Yasmin Farahmandy is not simply an interior designer—she is a storyteller, visionary, and cultural curator shaping the future of luxury interiors. At 35, Y Design Interior has established herself as one of the region’s most compelling creative voices, known for crafting immersive spaces that blend emotion, identity, and design.
Raised between Dubai, Canada, and Milan, Yasmin brings a distinctly global perspective to her work. With a background spanning fashion, furniture, and fine art, her approach to interiors transcends aesthetics—creating environments that are both visually striking and emotionally resonant. Her work has been featured in leading publications including Architectural Digest, Vogue India, Harper’s Bazaar, Emirates Woman, identity and Commercial Interior Design.
Yasmin began her career in Dubai with the internationally renowned hospitality design firm HBA, later joining global architecture leader Gensler, where her talent quickly distinguished her as one of the industry’s rising stars. In 2017, she received the Rising Designer of the Year award—an early recognition of the distinctive vision that would define her career.
In 2020, at the height of the global pandemic, Yasmin took a bold leap and founded Y Design Interior, a boutique studio dedicated to crafting story-driven, experience-led interiors. What began as a courageous vision during uncertain times has since evolved into one of the UAE’s most dynamic female-led design studios.
Today, Y Design Interior delivers luxury interiors that go far beyond aesthetics. With a growing team and an expanding portfolio across hospitality, Branded residences and commercial sectors, the studio translates brands and lifestyles into immersive environments that leave a lasting impression.
Yasmin’s influence within the industry has earned her significant recognitions & awards. She has been named among the CID Power 50 Interior Designers in the Middle East & Africa, and in 2025 she was recognized among the Top 100 Women Leaders in the Middle East, highlighting her growing impact not only in design but also in leadership and entrepreneurship across the region.
